EVW 28: Artyom Morozov faces Georgi Tsvetkov for a rematch in Vegas.

Both Morozov and Georgi are coming into this match with phenomenal triumphs over their foes. Artyom with a convincing 4-1 victory over Ermes Gasparini, and Georgi just obliterated Alex Kurdecha in Budapest.

These two athletes have been massively underestimated due to their average performances, but now the duo is making waves in the world of armwrestling.

Georgi’s loss against Kamil Jablonski fired him up, and we could see that in his match vs. Alex: the way he contained Alex’s toproll and pinned him with utmost hand control tells us how capable he is of fighting for the title.

On the other hand, Morozov is looking in the best shape of his life, not just physically but technically as well. I think Morozov has properly realized that if he is to survive among the superheavyweight beasts, he needs to develop a toproll, and this is exactly what he did. Not only did he out-back-pressure the athlete (Ermes Gasparini) with arguably the strongest back pressure, but he also took his wrist and shouted in his face in the middle of the pull, something no opponent has ever done to his right arm.

How might this match go?

The last time they faced each other was in EVW 8 in July 2023. In that fight, Morozov weighed around 118 kg due to his stomach issues. In that fight, Georgi dominated Artyom by stopping his hook and then tearing through his flop press.

I don’t believe Artyom or anyone can hook Georgi’s pronation, and if he tries to do so, it wouldn’t take Georgi long to bust that wrist back and bleed the terminator out.

But if Artyom goes for a lat-drag-driven toproll, he can neutralize Georgi’s cup, which would give the former enough time to surge sideways with his otherworldly side pressure and get through Georgi’s defense.

But we are yet to see Georgi lose his wrist. Yes, he lost it against Kamil, but that happened once he was completely gassed out fighting Kamil’s flop press. I’m not saying Morozov needs to completely bust Georgi’s wrist back to win the match; however, I do believe Morozov needs incredible wrist strength and back pressure to pull Georgi off his strongest lane and finish the match with a side pressure surge or a flop press.

Even if Georgi manages to take Morozov’s wrist in the center, I still believe that with a decent purchase to his pronation, Artyom can bring the Bulgarian towards the losing side and finish it up with a flop press.

But the real question is for how many rounds Morozov can surge through Georgi without his wrist.

I see the match as a complete 50-50. To me, this is going to be the main event for two reasons:

Reason no. 1: The winner would be considered to fight for the world title.

Reason no. 2: An athlete with a huge frame and exceptional muscularity is required to potentially break the Georgian Hulk’s 9-0 undefeated supermatch streak and become the next behemoth the armwrestling world can look up to, and I believe it should be either Morozov or Georgi.
