The collision of the Giants for the superheavyweight world title: Vitaly Laletin vs Kamil Janlonski.

After Levan Saginashvilli vacated the superheavyweight belt and gauntlet, the superheavyweight category is yet to see its new champion.

On one side is the Siberian Bear Vitaly Laletin standing at a staggering height of 6 ‘9 with a blistering and powerful toproll.

While across him would be Kamil “the golden dragon” Jablonski who has been a threat to everyone in that category.

Kamil’s press makes him a stylistic nightmare for Vitaly and he has shown that in their left arm collision as well.

Kamil is on a winning rampage beating Jerry Cadorette, Michael Todd and Georgi Tsvetkov one after another.

  • KOTT 12: Lost to Artyom Morozov — 1–5
  • EVW 10: Lost to Ivan Matyushenko — 0–3
  • EVW 14: Lost to Michael Todd — 0–3
  • EVW 21: Defeated Jerry Cadorette — 4–1
  • EVW 22: Defeated Michael Todd — 3–0
  • EVW 25: Defeated Georgi Tsvetkov — 4–2

While on the other hand Laletin is coming off a defeat from what most people consider the strongest Armwrestler after Levan Saginashvilli, Devon “no limits” Larratt.

  • KOTT 5: Lost to Dave Chaffee — 3–4
  • KOTT 9: Lost to Ermes Gasparini — 2–4
  • KOTT 10: Defeated Dave Chaffee — 5–1
  • KOTT 14: Defeated Michael Todd — 3–0
  • EVW 9: Defeated Revaz Lutidze — 3–0
  • EVW 13: Defeated Georgii Dzeranov — 3–0
  • EVW 15: Defeated Artyom Morozov — 3–0
  • EVW 21: Defeated Jerry Cadorette — 3–0
  • EVW 23: Lost to Devon Larratt — 1–4

Vitaly has been on an incredible winning streak which came to a stop only against the best version of Devon Larratt.

Vitaly’s toproll was too much for Kamil on the left arm but Kamil’s growth hasn’t been linear since then. He has proved he deserves to fight the best in the world with his versatility, constant improvement at the table and never give up attitude.

How might this match go?

Considering two opponents have the same strength: the hook will always beat the flop press, the flop press will always beat the toproll while the toproll will always beat the hook.

But things are never this simple in real life as many components play a huge role in deciding the outcome of the match—both physical and mental.

Vitaly’s side pressure is more powerful on his right arm while Kamil’s strength in his right arm might be at the same level or slightly stronger than his left. It’s not just Vitaly’s raw power that makes him such a tough challenger for Kamil but the speed he is able to apply that force.

Kamil has to be faster than Vitaly to get into the position he wants, because if Kamil misses the go or sleeps on Vitaly he would feel Laletin’s ferocious side pressure come raining at him. So far Kamil has not shown great results once he has been on the defensive side.  Even if Kamil manages to slow down or catch the Russian on the defensive side it would be hard for Kamil to bring him back.

Vitaly’s match with Jerry Cadorette proves that he has the tools to deal with a press…

But would it be enough to deal with Kamil’s brutal attack? Let us know in the comments below.
