After his recent victory on the left arm at east vs west 26 Devon Larratt has decided to go up against the guy which most believe has the tools to beat Devon.
His opponent has an incredible deep hook that is supported by his insane ability to press. This combo makes him a stylistic nightmare for Devon even on the right arm.

The Russian has been the top dog of the category for a very long time and has even reigned as the best for 175 days after a dominant 4–0 victory over Genadi Kvikvinia at King of the Table 14.
Ibragim’s ability to get his opponent in a hook is one of the best in this category but what makes him truly vicious against an opponent like Devon is his ability to press. Devon’s ability to pronate out of a hook might be the best in the world. He has shown he can roll out of a deep hook from any given position on the table.
But the problem here for Devon is, Ibragim isn’t just fabulous at establishing a hook. He is also one of the deadliest pressers of the category and his match with the Croatian prodigy Rino Masic is a living proof of it.
How would this match go?
If we analyze this match deeply it’s not so obvious to predict what the outcome of the match might be. Because even though a press has always been a concern for Devon, that doesn’t mean all you need is a press to beat him—especially on the right arm.
On the right Devon has strengthened his inside game to a commendable level after his loss against Genadi Kvikvinia in their first match.
After that loss Devon knew that even though his out of this world pronation is enough to crack almost any wrist but that doesn’t inevitably guarantee his victory on the Armwrestling table.
There are strong athletes who rely entirely on their wrist and hand dominance to win but on the other side there are some athletes that are seriously good at pulling without their wrist.

Guys like Genadi Kvikvinia, Ermes Gasparini, Jerry Cadorette, Kamil Jablonski to name a few.
These guys are as dangerous if not more even if they lose their hands. The only reason Ermes couldn’t do anything against Devon even after losing his wrist was because of Devon’s ability to separate him from his shoulder, take control of his cup and his ability to transition after his offensive move to a press. But some opponents are fast and powerful to get in the position they want to get in and that’s where Devon seems to be the most vulnerable.
But now Devon is fully aware of it and he knows the importance of a strong inside game against the flop pressers.
And that’s where troubles for Ibragim might begin as Devon has the capacity to shoot forward deep inside with him and bleed him in his own game.
Devon’s hook is different than a traditional one, the way he brings his shoulder forward, engaging his incredible pronation along with his huge frame to negate his opponent from having any lane to victory.

At his last standing in the superheavyweight category Devon showed remarkable resistance to Vitaly’s press with his right arm strength. Vitaly’s press is no joke, he was able to get through Michael Todd’s kings move for 3 consecetive rounds; a feat even some elite pressers have struggle with. So it’s obvious Devon is working on his arm strength on the outside related moves as well.

Devon’s huge frame, his stronger and much more coordinated right arm along with his A+ inside game would be an hard challenge to overcome for the former heavyweight champion.
